Janet Shearer (b. 1953, UK) lives and works in the heart of rural Cornwall in a secluded valley near Ruthernbridge, surrounded by woods, nature and the Camel Estuary. After a thirty year international career as an artist specialising in hyper-realistic trompe l'œil paintings and murals, Janet has moved towards the more intuitive, impressionistic style of painting we see today.
Cornwall offers a gloriously rich palette of inspiration for Janet Shearer’s paintings.
From the woodlands and rivers surrounding her home to the open stretches of coastline where she walks, swims and kayaks all year round - the changing seasons and unpredictable weather offers infinite possibilities to explore through colour, texture and form.
Janet is currently exhibiting and selling original paintings via her studio as well as at The St Enodoc Hotel, Cornwall and at Barnes and Henley Fine Art, London
